10 countries you probably never heard about

You really have to be a geography freak to know about these countries from the list. It’s irrelevant to us how recognized they are as countries but they surely look at themselves like that. Of course a special thanks to Wikipedia for the article’s research.
vanutu-small-country
10. Vanuatu, 90% of Vanuatu people household and consume fish, and 80% are living in rural, isolated villages with their own gardens and food supplies. Scuba diving is a very popular tourist attraction here. Tsunamis are not a rare thing in Vanuatu, and earthquakes have a negative affect on the country’s economy.

nauru-small-country 9. Nauru, a former German Empire colony is also known as Pleasant Island of the South Pacific. The people of Nauru are collecting rain water during monsoon rains between November and February because they are very limited on natural fresh water. The most popular sport in this country is Australian rules football, and they have football league with seven teams.

tuvalu-small-country 8. Tuvalu, is a constitutional monarchy with Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. They don’t have regular military forces, and spend no money on defense. Tuvalu is the 4th smallest country in the world. The first inhabitants of the country were Polynesian people.

comoros-number-7 7. Comoros is African island nation in the Indian Ocean between Mozambique and Madagascar. The island is an old French colony, and today there is about 300 000 Comorians living in France. 98% of the population is Islamic.

guernsey-small-country 6. Guernsey is under the responsibility of the United Kingdom but they don’t count as a part of the U.K, as well as the European Union. isle-of-man-small-country 5. Isle of Man, also known as Mann, is self-governing British Crown Dependency, with a location in the Irish Sea between the islands of Great Britain and Ireland. cook-islands-number-3 3. Cook Islands, are a self-governing parliamentary democracy. With over 90 000 tourists per year, tourism is their far best industry and their leading element of the island economy, far ahead of offshore banking, marine, pearls and fruit exports. Cook Islands got named by the British navigator Captain James Cook when he arrived the islands in 1773.

pitcairn-islands-small-island 2. Pitcairn Islands, officially named the Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands, are a group of four volcanic islands that are formerly a British colony, the last remaining in the Pacific. 12 Hottest Politicians’ Wives

With the power and authority of government office, you might imagine that hotties would be falling over themselves to get their hands on the great and good. In fact, that’s rarely the case – politics can be a dry, dry subject and it takes decades to get to the top. However, to test the rule, here are 12 of the hottest women in the world to be married into politics!

12) Bianna Golodryga

Named one of the 30 hottest journalists under 30 in 2004, Bianna certainly is smoking hot. The ABC correspondent, who specialises in business and economic issues, is now a co-anchor on the weekend edition of Good Morning America. Married to Peter Orszag, Obama’s Budget Director, she’s also fluent in Russia. Who ever said that power wasn’t the ultimate aphrodisiac?

11) Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein

Daughter of King Hussein I of Jordan and junior wife of Mohammed bin Rashid, the Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, Haya knows a thing or two about walking down the corridors of power. As well as being a humanitarian, she is an Olympic show jumper. And did we mention? She’s also a princess.

10) Filippa Reinfeldt

Politicians do flock together it seems. Filippa, who is married to Swedish Prime Minister (or ‘Sveriges statsminister’) Fredrik Reinfeldt, is herself a Moderate party politician and is currently the County Commissioner of Health Services, having previously sat on Stockholm County Council. She is rumoured to have previously dated Swedish dance star E-Type and has been accused of manufacturing ‘Christmas porn’ with over the top festive bun making spreads (we kid you not).

9) Asma al-Assad

Syria might have been one of the spokes of the axis of evil, but first lady Asma, wife of Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria, is one fine looker. Completing her education in the UK, she went on to become an invest banker, working for firms like Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan in London and New York. Which suggests that as well as being gorgeous, she might be extremely smart.

8) Laureen Harper

Married to the apparently ‘intensely cerebral’ Canadian PM Stephen Harper, Laureen has declared she’ll do ‘Whatever I can to help Canadian fashion’. As well as volunteering her home to the Ottawa SPCA as a kitten sanctuary, she also likes riding her motorcycle and gardening. An eclectic mix, we think.

7) Cindy McCain

Cindy McCain – one of the golden ladies of politics. This beaut is looking absolutely fine for a 66-year-old woman who has been married to John McCain for 30 years. After all, Sarah Palin couldn’t cope with spending more than a couple of weeks with the maverick before going rogue. To add to that… she’s a beer-heiress. Is there any higher calling from which to inherit wealth?

6) Sonsoles Espinosa

Sonsoles is a classical singer and a music teacher at one of Madrid’s most prestigious schools. She’s also married to José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the Spanish Prime Minister. While she might have a gothic style, she’s renowned for her good taste in fashion.

5) Maria Shriver

As the Governator’s wife, Maria isn’t just married into the Californian Republican Party, she’s also married into Hollywood. But then she isn’t unacquainted with either – she is the niece of John, Bobby and Ted Kennedy and is an Emmy award-winning NBC journalist. She is also an advocate of Alzheimer’s causes – and has a rose named after her.

4) Elizabeth Kucinich

Standing 6′ tall, Elizabeth really is a red-headed English rose. She is also half the age of her 5′7”, 63 year old husband, Dennis Kucinich, a Democrat in the US House of Representatives. She certainly must see a lot of something in him. Like Dennis, Liz is a vegan, though unlike him she has a tongue stud. Raunchy stuff, indeed.

3) Rania Al Abdullah

Wife of Abdullah II, King of Jordan, Rania is, uh, The Queen of Jordan… Described as one of the most powerful women in the world, she is also the author of a New York Times bestselling children’s book. Rania apparently enjoys water skiing and cycling. She’s some pretty hot royalty.

2) Carla Bruni

Actress, singer-songwriter and former model, Carla Bruni is one of the most glamorous women on Earth. Period. A modern successor to Jackie O, she spent the 1990s as one of the world’s best paid supermodels, during which period a nude photograph of her sold for over $90,000. Then in 2007, she started seeing diminutive French President Nicolas Sarkozy, only weeks after he had left his second wife, before marrying him in 2008.
Almost single-handedly raising the bar of international conferences, Carla is probably the sexiest politician’s wife in the world. With one exception…

1) Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama – half of the coolest couple on the face of the Earth and possibly the most beautiful first lady ever. Standing at 5′11”, she’s as tall as a supermodel, she’s a trained lawyer and she is an icon of style. Would you rather get stuck in an elevator with this lady or with Barbara Bush? Without a shadow of a doubt, we know which way we’d swing.

12 Strangest Jeans

Bikini Jeans

These Japanese Bikini Jeans cross jeans with a thong – an attached bikini bottom secures the low-slung jeans to the hips. If you'd like to set a new fashion trend in your neighborhood - or get expelled/fired/ogled as the case may be, you can order the "bijini", to coin a phrase, at the Sanna's Brazil Fashionwebsite. They're surprisingly inexpensive at just $88 plus shipping, and are made in Brazil.

World's Most Expensive Jeans ($27,000)

This Spin Jeans comprises only 8 instances worldwide at a suggested retail price of ¥2,625,000 JPY (approximately $27,000 USD). Truly original but hardly wearable, the jeans seen here should be considered much more a re-appropriated piece of art than fashion. A multi-colored splatter pattern covers every square inch of a pair of iconic Levi's denim.

Putting on one of the most successful art shows of all-time last year, and the highest grossing contemporary living artists of all-time, artist Damien Hirst has brought forth a certain style to his definition of art. Bold and brash, he teams up with Levi's on the release of a new denim style. (Link)

Chuck Norris Action Jeans

Those are Chuck Norris Action Jeans, and just in case your mind can't process it because you are too busy freaking out, they are pants specifically designed to be worn while you are kicking people in the face. And they retail for less than twenty dollars. And that is just one of many, many mind-shattering images that lie within the pages of the September, 1988 issue of Inside Karatemagazine. It's 76 pages long, roughly two-thirds of which feature Chuck Norris, and the pages that don't are pretty much all forms for mail-ordering nunchucks. (Link)

Peripheral Jeans

Wearable geeky gadgets have been taken to new levels with the appearance of the Peripheral Jean Pants, a wacky wearable keyboard fashion that is certainly scandalous in its design. The weird and wacky wearable gadget is built into a pair of fashionable designer jeans; it boasts a built-in keyboard, mouse, and computer speakers that play audio at knee height. The keyboard is wireless, and while it may just look like a graphic design on the pants, will work with any laptop or desktop computer. Take a look at the picture, and you will have no doubts about why this is the most scandalous geeky gadget designed to date.

If you're impressed by this strange fashion item, unfortunately, you won't be able to get your hands on your own keyboard pants just yet. The fashionable gadget, named The Beauty and the Geek jeans, were created by product design student Erik De Nijs from Holland for a school project which required him to combine two brand items to create a new product. In part, he designed the Peripheral Pants to allow computer users more freedom of movement, but the main objective was to create a functional fashion meets technology item that would be seen as weird and wacky, and not necessarily a practical design. World's Oldest Levi's Jeans

Lynn Downey works as a historian for Levi Strauss & Co. in San Francisco and is responsible for Levi's extensive archives of clothing, photographs, posters and artifacts. The jewel in this amazing archive is the world's oldest pair of Levi's- a pair "XX," one-pocket jeans, which date back to 1879 and are valued at $125,000. Unfortunately the archive is not open to members of the public, however there is a permanent display of choice pieces from the collection in the lobby of the Levi's Heaquarters in San Francisco.

Chain Jeans

Hand-made by Swarovskijeans, the designer claims these jeans are spectacular. She removed the original color from the denim with a color remover for starters. They have been dyed 2 times, once with Indigo and then again with Navy dye. She then separated the jeans and hung hardware chain from metal hangers. Each hanger is screwed into the denim and secured 28 hangers to each leg. Total of 56 hangers on jeans. The chain is hardware metal and is a little heavy, but the jeans are still very wearable. Chandelier Jeans

These jeans were new before they were ‘embellished'. Each leg has 408 glass chandelier prisms, total of 816. Each prism has a 10mm split ring attaching to one another. All put on one by one. Underneath the feathers are 24 metal triangle hangers screwed on to denim, this is how the chandelier chain is attached to the jeans. (Link)

Spray-On Jeans

These jeans by Krylon simply invite the question, “Did you spray those jeans on?”

Well, actually the colors were inspired by the paint preferred by graffiti artists everywhere, named Krylon. Genetic Denim has launched the Graffiti Collection, for which I would pay good money to see someone buy and try to put on or take these off! While Krylon is the cheap version of spray paint, these jeans will set you back $185 to $220 at Barney's. (Link)

Corset Jeans

These jeans have been stripped and then given new life… This pair is cinched at the small of the back for a more feminine curve hugging fit! (Link)

Paint-Splattered Jeans

For those who wanted to get that rugged house painter kind of look but don't want to be bothered with actually painting anything, here are the perfect jeans for you. Behold the Painted Selvedge Jean by J.Crew! The jeans cost $285. That's right. Take one $60-$80 pair of jeans, add $1 worth of white paint, and charge $285 for it. (Link)

The Pajama Jeans

Hate having to change out of your SpongeBob pajamas when all you want to do is eat at the hotel's breakfast buffet before heading back to your bunk? Consider the problem solved with the Pajama Jeans, a versatile pair of pants that can double as your bedroom wear. It looks like denim and feels like pajamas - how much more perfect can clothing get? The current designs are strictly for women, though, which won't make it nearly as useful if they made it for guys. Imagine: men wearing the exact same thing straight out of bed on their way to the construction site, saving plenty of time on otherwise mundane tasks like taking a bath and getting a fresh batch of underwear. PajamaGram Company is selling the Pajama Jeans for $40 a pop, which sounds like a good deal, considering you can wear them for days on end without needing to change. Not that we're encouraging you not to wash your clothes or anything - but, hey, water is a precious natural resource...mmmkay?

Boot Sock Jeans

These look kinda funny when there are no body parts in them, but they don't look all that bad when modeled on a young "girl who tucks". Boot Sock Jeans are jeans with socks sewn on the ends. The idea came to Cindy Slater, a veteran in the fashion industry. Cindy is one of those girls who tuck their jeans into their boots. She didn't like the look of her pant legs having to fold up into her boots, not to forget the folds taking up so much room in her boots that she couldn't zip'em up. So finally the idea hit her to just cut off the jeans at the right length, and sew socks to the ends. (Link)
